Mini pen case

Sometimes I make things because I am asked and sometimes I just make them to see if I can.

This project had two starting points this was the first one

I had skived (thinned down)the joining edges to reduce the thickness of the overlap. and stitched through both pieces.

I did not really like this look so I started over here is mk 2

Sorry about the poor quality picture I formed this one around a cardboard tube. this time I was planning on a butt joint with some hidden stitching.

Stitching in progress the crossover is on the inside so all you see is the two lines of thread

Prior to assembly I had mitred the edges of the top and bottom to allow the end pieces to fit. Like this.

I had also added an internal support for the pen holders

The pen holders were card wrapped in red suede

Another three were required

I also added a strip of leather lined in suede to the top of the pen slot support piece.

I also began to sew the top and bottom pieces in place
