The new Emperor

I think this is the first flat backed Emperor pen case I have made the others have all been the round style.
As with all of my cases I started with flat stock kydex sheet suede and leather.
The Kydex was heated until soft and pliable it was placed in a two piece mould and pressure was applied.

Once the kydex had cooled I trimmed the excess and wrapped it in burgundy suede.

Veg tanned leather was soaked in cold water and formed over the same mould before being dyed Mahogany.

I spent quite a bit of time getting the shape where I wanted it I know it looks easy.

The owner wanted his name on the strap so stamp stamp stamp

Ready for stitching.

Once the glue had taken I was able to mark and punch the stitching holes and begin stitching.

I used red tigre thread

Testing the fit unfortunately I don’t have an Emperor pen so I made a wooden model with some card glued in place to replicate the clip.

Here is the finished case

This case is now on its way to its new home.
