I was asked by someone who has a full size Emperor case if I could make a slimline version but still have the brogue effect.
I do like a challenge so this post will detail how I created this case.
I formed three Kydex pen slots as I was aiming to make the case as slim as possible I reduced the height of the slot to match the diameter of the cap without the clip and the width to the diameter including the clip.
Once I was happy with the diameter I wrapped the pen slots in suede. Making sure to check the model pen will still fit, Unfortunately I don’t have an Emperor pen so I had to make the model.
Pen slots all wrapped in cognac suede.
I had created a custom brogue pattern for a previous case which I used for this second case.
After moulding the front cover I applied the pattern and punched the holes.
I left the cover in the mould to dry for 24 hours to fully dry before removing it.
I was asked to dye the case as close as possible to the colour of the briefcase I had previously restored.
After the dye had dried I added the rear kydex panel and covered it in suede.
